What Are Open Graph Tags?<\/h3>\n

Open graph tags tell social media platforms which title and description should be\u00a0used for a post. They also indicate which images or videos should be included with the post, if available.<\/p>\n

For example, try\u00a0posting\u00a0a Public video hosted on SproutVideo to Facebook. You’ll find that the video title, description, and poster frame image are all included\u00a0automatically with your post.<\/p>\n

How to Enable\u00a0Social Sharing of Your Videos<\/h3>\n

Ready to leverage powerful social sharing tools for your videos? All you have to do is ensure your videos are set to Public<\/a>. Then,\u00a0enable social sharing options for your videos hosted by\u00a0SproutVideo. You can enable social sharing account-wide, or just for specific individual videos.<\/p>\n

SproutVideo offers\u00a0two types of social sharing options: on the landing page<\/a> we automatically generate for Public videos; or through the player<\/a>. The right choice depends on whether you are using our landing pages or video websites<\/a> for sharing your videos, or if you’re embedding your content<\/a> on a website you own.<\/p>\n

By default, anyone who clicks on your video from Facebook’s timeline will be taken to the video landing page we generate for your video. For videos embedded\u00a0on another website, set the “Embedded URL<\/a>” for your video to point to the page where that\u00a0video is located instead.<\/p>\n

For example, if you embed your video on “https:\/\/mywebsite.com,” you’ll want to set your embedded URL within your SproutVideo account to “https:\/\/mywebsite.com” for that video.<\/p>\n
