Release Notes For Q4 2026, Oct - Dec

October 15, 2026

Video Encoding

  • Improved: When a video fails to process, the video list now tells you why and what to do next for the most common causes, such as a file over the 8K limit or a source URL that couldn’t be downloaded, instead of asking you to contact support.

Integrations

  • New: Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants to your account with the new SproutVideo MCP server, then ask them to find and update videos, manage playlists, live streams and viewer access, or pull your analytics. Owners and admins can connect from Account Settings › Integrations › AI Assistants, in one click where an assistant supports it, and see who on the team uses each assistant and revoke access. Editors can connect using the same setup guide or search for SproutVideo in the Claude marketplace.

API

  • New: Every API listing (folders, playlists, tags, logins, access grants and live streams, alongside videos) now accepts an id filter, so you can ask for one record or a specific set of them instead of paging through the whole list.
  • Improved: The base API rate limit is now 1,000 requests per minute, up from 200, so large nightly syncs and reporting jobs have room to finish. The limit is shared across every API key and AI assistant connection on your account.
  • Improved: API stats reports (geography, device types, domains, popular videos and popular downloads) now return in well under a second, even over multi-year date ranges that used to take up to 20 seconds.

Analytics & Engagement

  • Improved: Viewer search in the Audience Engagement report now matches partial email addresses and names. For example, a search for “jean” or “@example.com” returns any viewer sessions that contain those partial matches instead of coming back empty, and a CSV export taken while a search is active returns those same filtered sessions. Partial matching applies to sessions from early 2024 onward; full email addresses still match across your entire engagement history.
