What is Single Sign-On?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is a user authentication service your company may use to manage employees’ access to 3rd party services. When using SSO, your employees can use the same username and password to log into multiple applications. This makes it easier for your employees to keep track of their login information.
How does SSO work with SproutVideo?
SSO is designed to work seamlessly with SproutVideo’s websites. You can easily design and launch a secure video website in minutes. Then, in just a few steps, you can configure your SSO settings to work with your company’s Identity Provider. When SSO is implemented for your video website, visitors will be redirected to your Identity Provider for authentication. After entering their credentials successfully, visitors will be redirected back to your video website, where they will now be able view your content.
Viewer credentials are managed by your Identity Provider, and not SproutVideo. However, we will track your viewers according to their SSO username in our Video Engagement Metrics.
Warning: SSO only applies to videos that are accessed through a video website. SSO will not affect videos that are embedded.
How to enable SSO
Depending on your SSO provider the process may differ slightly but we have multiple guides on how to setup SSO:
