Dynamic Watermarking

NOTE: This feature is currently available by request only on the Tree and Forest plans. Please contact Support@sproutvideo.com to add Dynamic Watermarking to your account.

What is a Dynamic Watermark?

A dynamic watermark adds an extra layer of security when sharing sensitive videos. When enabled our dynamic watermarking feature will display the viewer’s email address, IP Address, and Session ID in the video file. The watermark will change position every 20 seconds which makes it very difficult to hide or remove also deterring the viewer from recording or sharing that video.

How to enable a Dynamic Watermark

The Dynamic Watermark can be enabled in a variety of ways. We provide an Account Wide setting, a Per Video setting, and an individual viewer setting when using Login Protection. When enabled the watermark will appear if the viewer’s email address is available through Lead Capture, a URL or Embed Code parameter or Login Protection.

To enable Account Wide watermarking navigate to the ‘Account Settings’ page then click ‘Video Settings.’

Video Settings

Enable the toggle switch for ‘Watermark videos when a viewer email address is available’ then click ‘Save Video Settings.’

Once enabled the watermark will only be visible when the viewer’s email address is available through lead capture, or by using the iFrame or URL tagging methods.

Apply a Dynamic Watermark to existing Viewer Logins

If you’ve already granted access to a video and want to apply a Watermark to all of your existing Viewer Logins we’ve added a shortcut to update all of the current logins in bulk. You can enable this on a per video or account wide basis.

This option will appear under the Per Video setting for Dynamic Watermarking if the video is set to be Login Protected and you have existing Viewer Logins with access to the selected video.
