<p>Packed into this feature release are folders, bandwidth caps, an audit log for team activity, a poster frame picker, and a shiny new integration with Zapier. Keep reading for all the details on the ways these new features will help improve your workflow and account management.</p>

<h2>What&#8217;s in the Release?</h2>



<p>Stay organized and work more efficiently with your team while extending the abilities of the SproutVideo platform through Zapier. Watch the video below to get the highlights.</p>

<p>Those with large video libraries, rejoice! Folders are here, and they&#8217;re incredibly easy to use to organize your video content.</p>



<p>By default, all your videos are listed in your home folder. If you have a lot of videos, it can be hard to stay on top of all your content.</p>



<p>Now, you can create nested folders to make it simple and quick to find what you&#8217;re looking for. You can easily move videos from one folder to another, delete folders, and upload new videos directly to a folder.</p>

<h4>Tags</h4>



<p>Tags are still a great tool to help you find content by search, and to surface results within your account across folders. They are also used on your video website to help viewers locate and navigate to your videos.</p>



<p>We moved Tags from the sidebar to a dropdown menu above your list of videos to better showcase your video library, and to help make it clear when you&#8217;re filtering results.</p>



<h2>Account Management Tools</h2>



<p>In our last major release, we <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/blog/our-biggest-feature-release-yet-introducing-multi-user-more.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">added support for multi-user accounts</a>. Since that change means more people are uploading content and helping to manage accounts, we added new tools to help you stay on top of everything.</p>



<h4>Bandwidth Caps</h4>



<p>More uploading usually means more streaming, so we added support for the ability to cap your monthly bandwidth at a specific amount. Every SproutVideo account comes with <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/66-bandwidth_storage_and_overages_faqs" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">more than enough bandwidth</a> for the vast majority of our users, however, for those who want that extra peace of mind, bandwidth caps are a great option.</p>



<p>First, decide how much extra bandwidth would be permissible for your account to use in a given month. Then, simply enter the number in GB to set a limit for your account&#8217;s streaming.</p>

<p>Note that this is an approximate limit. If an account is consuming an exceptionally high rate of bandwidth, we might not be able to cut off streaming at the exact limit you&#8217;ve set. This is an extremely rare scenario, and not one we anticipate users encountering frequently.</p>



<h4>Audit Log</h4>



<p>With <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/141-how_to_add_team_members_to_your_account" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">all those team members</a> helping you upload videos and manage your account, you&#8217;ll want to keep track of who&#8217;s doing what. We created an audit log for that exact purpose.</p>



<p>Now, you can easily check and see who uploaded a video, changed a privacy setting, or edited a detail about your account.</p>

<h2>Zapier Integration</h2>



<p>SproutVideo already has many <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/categories/15-integrations" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">awesome integrations with marketing platforms</a>. But, our latest addition stands out because it&#8217;s so flexible and so very powerful.</p>



<p>Our new integration with Zapier allows you to <a href="https://zapier.com/apps" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">connect our platform to any other app that also integrates with Zapier</a>. Now, you can hook up some really popular platforms, like Slack, PayPal, Salesforce, Google Drive, and many more, with your SproutVideo account.</p>



<p>The ways you can use this new integration are nearly endless. Here are a few uses we came up with:</p>



<ul><li>Upload videos from storage solutions like Google Drive and Dropbox</li><li>Create a new viewer login after someone makes a purchase through Shopify or Paypal</li><li>Notify a channel in Slack when a video is watched</li></ul>



<p>Of course, there are many more ways to use SproutVideo and Zapier and any of the other apps they support. We&#8217;re excited to see what you come up with!</p>



<h2>Our Video Website Themes and Site Editor Got an Upgrade</h2>



<p>All of our <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/video_websites">beautiful video site themes</a> are now even more beautified. We made minor tweaks to the designs, including updated fonts and minor changes to layouts for certain themes. We also did a lot of work on the backend to make sure your video website performs just as nicely as it looks.</p>



<p>Note that if you are currently using a video website or custom landing pages, and make changes to your video site, you will automatically be upgraded to the latest version of your theme when you publish your changes. If you are using custom Javascript or CSS on your video website, you&#8217;ll want to be doubly sure your custom code works properly with the new themes.</p>



<p>The Site Editor now contains all of the video website settings, though we bet the first thing you&#8217;ll notice is the refreshed design. We moved site privacy controls, like SSO and the site password, to a new tab called &#8220;Security&#8221; and other site settings to &#8220;Settings&#8221;. As a result, you can find everything you need in one place!</p>



<h2>Poster Frame Picker</h2>



<p>Last, but not least, we created a custom poster frame generator that allows you to select any frame from your video to use as the poster frame.</p>



<p>The poster frame is the image that&#8217;s displayed before a viewer clicks to play your video. Before, you could upload your own, or pick from one of four images we generated for you.</p>



<p>Now, you can select any frame from the video, and we will automatically generate the image for you.</p>

<h3>How to Setup an Integration</h3>
<p>Enabling a marketing integration for your account couldn&#8217;t be easier. The process to set one up is the same for all supported platforms within your SproutVideo account.</p>

<p>Navigate to Account Settings, and select Email Integrations on the lefthand side of the screen.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll be prompted to enter your credentials for that provider. Then, you&#8217;ll be redirected back to your SproutVideo account. You can finish configuring the integration by selecting a list, among other options.</p>

<h3>Details on The New Integrations</h3>
<p>Although the basis for all of these integrations is the same, each one is a little unique. Here are the details on the differences between them.</p>
<h4>Act-On</h4>
<p>Because of how their platform works, SproutVideo will create a list for you within your Act-On account. Then, when your email-gated videos generate leads, we&#8217;ll send them automatically to the list we created.</p>

<p>Once you&#8217;ve setup the first part of the integration, you simply need to select a list to which you&#8217;ll send your leads. All email-gated videos will now direct the leads they generate to this list.</p>

<h4>Hubspot</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Hubspot integration is very straightforward because it happens on the backend. Using that information, you can create multiple campaigns segmented by different viewing behavior. </span></p>

<p>The Intercom integration is similar to Hubspot because we are able to handle a lot of it on the backend. Every time a video generates a new lead, we pass it to Intercom as a contact. Then, we&#8217;ll automatically register any viewing activity as events in Intercom.</p>

<h3>What is Viewer Tracking?</h3>
<p>Viewer tracking is when you can identify a specific viewer, and tie a viewing session to the individual, based on their email address.</p>
<p>There are several different reasons why viewer tracking is an exceptionally powerful feature. It provides specific insights into your audience; it can be combined with other tools in highly effective marketing campaigns; and it can be leveraged for multiple business functions.</p>
<h3>How to Tag Viewers With an Email Address</h3>
<p>To track individual viewers, you&#8217;ll want to tag them with an email address. SproutVideo supports several ways of doing so.</p>
<h4>Email Gated Videos</h4>
<p>The easiest way is to <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/55-require_viewers_to_submit_their_contact_information_to_watch_a_video" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">email gate your content</a>. When viewers arrive on a page containing your video, the player will prompt them for their email address. After they enter it, they can watch your video.</p>

<h4>Pass Emails Through URLs or Embed Codes</h4>
<p>Another option is to pass the email address through a parameter appended to your video sharing URL.</p>
<p>This is a particularly great option if you&#8217;re emailing a link to your video. If you&#8217;re using our <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/106-how_to_generate_or_customize_an_email_embed_code" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">video email embed codes</a>, we&#8217;ll take care of that automatically for you. If you&#8217;re not, you just have to add the parameter manually, like so:</p>
<p><strong>Video URL</strong>: https://mysite123.vids.io/videos/sproutvideo-websites</p>
<p><strong>Parameter:</strong> ?vemail={!email}</p>
<p><strong>Result:</strong> https://mysite123.vids.io/videos/sproutvideo-websites?vemail={!email}</p>
<p><em>Note &#8211; that is intentionally not a working URL. Use the actual <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/general_and_common_questions/how_do_i_share_my_videos" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">video sharing URL from your account</a> when testing this out.</em></p>
<p>So long as that viewer&#8217;s browser session is already tagged with their email address, it will be passed to our platform when they click that link. You might have to edit the variable being used to pass the email address to our platform. Other than that, it&#8217;s very straightforward.</p>
<p>Similarly, you can use a custom parameter in a regular video embed code to pass a viewer&#8217;s email address to your SproutVideo hosting account. In this case, you&#8217;d add the parameter to the end of the src attribute in the embed code. For examples of how to do that, please refer to this <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/108-how_to_track_viewers_with_their_contact_information" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">help article about tagging viewers by their email address</a>.</p>
<h4>Video Security Settings</h4>
<p>Beyond email gating, SproutVideo offers two video privacy options that require viewers to enter their email address in order to view a video. One is <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/29-login_protected_videos" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Login Protection</a>, and the other is Single-Sign-On (SSO).</p>
<p>Login protection is a video security setting that enables you to grant video access to specific people, with very granular control over the terms of their access. You can set their permissions to expire after a period of time or number of uses. You can also set download permissions on the individual level.</p>
<p>To get started with login protection, first, set your videos to login protected. Then, <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/privacy_and_password_protection/how_to_create_a_login_for_a_login_protected_video" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">create some viewer logins</a>, and <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/privacy_and_password_protection/how_to_grant_login_access_to_your_videos" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">set their video access permissions</a>. When you share your video with your designated viewers, they&#8217;ll encounter a screen like this:</p>

<p>A viewer login consists of an email address and password combination. When a viewer encounters a login protected video, they have to enter their credentials to view the video. Their viewing session is tagged with their email address, which is passed to your SproutVideo account.</p>
<p>SSO is very similar to login protection. The main difference is that viewer credentials are managed by your company&#8217;s existing Identity Provider instead of SproutVideo. Well-known Identity Providers include <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/107-how_to_implement_sso_with_active_directory_adfs_for_your_video_website" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ADFS</a>, <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/110-google_apps_sso" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Google Apps</a>, and <a href="https://www.onelogin.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OneLogin</a>. SproutVideo supports any SSO provider that uses the SAML 2.0 protocol.</p>
<p>To use SSO to regulate video access, you must first create a <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/video_websites" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">video website</a> on the SproutVideo platform. Enabling SSO will likely require a technical resource at your company to set up. You can also <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/contact" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reach out to our support team</a> for assistance.</p>
<h3>Ways to Use Viewer Tracking</h3>
<p>On the backend, no matter how you captured it, that email address is sent to your SproutVideo account. There, it will show up in your <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/32-video_engagement_metrics" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">video engagement metrics</a>, or, can be sent directly to the <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/101-enable_an_email_marketing_or_marketing_automation_platform_integration" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">marketing platform of your choice</a>.</p>
<h4>What to do With Video Engagement Metrics</h4>
<p>Video engagement metrics show you exactly how much of a video someone watched, rewatched, or skipped. This data can be used in several different ways.</p>
<p>You can use it to improve your video content, for starters. If you notice that engagement drops off at a specific point in your video, you might want to review ways to keep viewers hooked. If you notice that engagement spikes, it could be a particularly compelling call-to-action, or a potentially confusing point in the video.</p>

<p>Another way to use engagement data is to check and see if specific individuals watched your videos. This is ideal for training videos, a sales video, lead qualification, or educational videos. You can also export your data to Excel to make it easier to analyze for really popular videos.</p>
<p>You could make videos required watching for trainees, and check whether they actually completed it. Assuming people who watch your product video to completion are interested in the item, you could send those leads to a sales team. If it&#8217;s a real estate video, you might contact engaged viewers about an upcoming open house.</p>
<p>If someone skips a lot of your video, or only watches the first few seconds, maybe a different type of content would be preferable, like a white paper or product spec sheet. Suggesting different topics or products might also be an option.</p>
<p>Whether your audience is highly engaged, or not at all, once you can track it, you can improve it.</p>
<h4>Using Viewer Activity in Marketing Campaigns</h4>
<p>If you&#8217;re sending emails to one of SproutVideo&#8217;s <a href="https://sproutvideo.com/help/articles/101-enable_an_email_marketing_or_marketing_automation_platform_integration" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">supported marketing platforms</a>, then you can reap additional benefits from viewer tagging. You can simply build your lists, or you can run sophisticated drip marketing campaigns depending on the platform you&#8217;re using.</p>
<p>For instance, a campaign based on the specific video a viewer watched would be really powerful. Ideally, it would trigger messaging or discounts that specifically pertain to the product or service featured in the video.</p>
<p>The benefit to this is that you can largely automate this process. Once you setup some welcome emails, and get your messaging right, new subscribers will hear from you automatically. This is a very scalable and low-touch marketing campaign.</p>

<p>You can quickly and easily setup this new integration by clicking on the “Connect to Aweber” button, entering your Aweber credentials, and selecting “Allow Access” to create a secure connection between the SproutVideo platform and Aweber.</p>

<p>When you go to the Email Integrations section of your account, you’ll find a new option to set up your new Infusionsoft integration. Setup is very simple and takes literally seconds to complete.</p>
<p>Once you have integrated your video hosting account with Infusionsoft, leads captured by our email gating feature will automatically be sent to your Infusionsoft account. You can also choose to tag your new leads with the title of the video they watched, or an existing tag from your Infusionsoft account.</p>

<p>When logged into your account, you will now see a new section under your Account settings called “Email Integrations.” When you click on that new section, you will see a screen where you can enter your MailChimp API key, select the list to which you want to send your new subscribers, and configure your list settings.</p>

<p>There is a key benefit to this new integration that specifically applies to certain users &#8211; namely, anyone on the Sprout or Seed plan. Before, email-gating a video required video engagement metrics because the email addresses were stored in those reports. Now, you can use email-gating if you setup your MailChimp integration regardless of your subscription plan.</p>
<p>Also, you no longer have to manually transfer the data captured by your email-gated videos to your MailChimp account. This will help reduce the chances of uploading subscribers to the wrong list, or MailChimp erroneously flagging an upload as non-opted-in users.</p>
